I mean how configure ssl to access novnc via HTTPS. If I put that this doesn't works (previously I add the key and cert to nova.conf in controller node) novncproxy_base_url = https://controller:6080/vnc_auto.html Horizon doesn't show the console iframe because is a http content inside https page

This doesn't work for me. I am using Ussuri version and /var/log/nova/nova-novncproxy.log shows:

Thanks, it works. The vnc console is accesible via the url configure in novncproxy_base_url (is http). The connection with QUEMU is unencrypted. How can I solve it? I would like to access via https to the vnc console Moreover the vnc console iframe in Horizon does not appear.

Hello,

I am installing Openstack Ussuri and I have no idea how to configure novnc console. I have a controller node and a compute node.

The guides show this options:

In nova.conf (controller):

[vnc]
enabled = true
# ...
server_listen = $my_ip
server_proxyclient_address = $my_ip

In nova.conf (compute):

[vnc]
# ...
enabled = true
server_listen = 0.0.0.0
server_proxyclient_address = $my_ip
novncproxy_base_url = http://controller:6080/vnc_auto.html

Besides, I read this page: https://docs.openstack.org/nova/ussur..., but I am totally stuck with this issue.

Could anyone help me with the nova config files and apache2 configuration in order to set up the console?

I can't create instances in Openstack Train.

I've seen on my controller node the file /var/log/apache2/placement_api_error.log and it is full of this message: Timeout when reading response headers from daemon process 'placement-api': /usr/bin/placement-api

On my compute node, I've seen /var/log/nova/nova-compute.log :

According to the nova documentation (pike version): cpu_shares: Specifies the proportional weighted share for the domain. If this element is omitted, the service defaults to the OS provided defaults.

How I can know the default value?

At the moment the installation of glance I made it using the official guide of Pike for ubuntu.

I wanted to comment on a problem that has happened to me several times ...

I had the OpenStack version "Newton" recently and I updated the OpenStack version "Pike", and all right until the keystone in the controller node did not work well for me as it told me in horizon:

"An error occurred authenticating. Please try again later."

In cli command line: Failed to discover available identity versions when contacting http: // controller: 35357 / v3. Attempting to parse version from URL. Internal Server Error (HTTP 500)

In the end I had to do a clean installation of the controller node.

But just a week ago I decided to update the packages because there were updates and bug fixes in some of them and the same error was shown again.

Horizon:

I have a controller node and a compute node.

The controller node also acts as a network node. I have used the following installation guide, for ubuntu and Pike version.

The problem is the following:

When someone performs simulations and in this case auto-scaling with heat 30 instances. After a while in the controller node the neutron-server service reaches almost 100% of CPU usage.

In that case there is a slowdown in the cloud and when launching instances.

To get back down CPU usage I have to restart the neutron-linuxbridge-agent service of the compute node. But before that I see that the following appears in the logs of the compute node.

Hello again, I have been doing some checks and today I found that they have updated on yesterday 09/11/2017 the openstack guide for ubuntu 16.04 and the pike version in which they include how to install and configure gnocchi .

Anyway I realized that the user created gnocchi trying to add to the service project and role of admin I came to jump the errors of ceilometer-upgrade, all this with previous execution of both gnocchi-api and gnocchi-metricd. It is possible that the error I give you at http://paste.openstack.org/show/625930/ may come around but it depends on the configuration you have in gnocchi and ceilometer.

I have tried to install again ceilometer and gnocchi with the new openstack changes regarding the official guide.

I have managed to carry out all the steps, but there are some things that I have had to do in at least some. I still have some problem to solve.

I was testing but at the time of executing the gnocchi-upgrade command I got connectivity errors with coordination_url.

Then in /etc/redis/redis.conf I have changed the ip address set for the redis server (127.0.0.1) by the cloud management address of the controller.

I tried the gnocchi-upgrade command again and it did not return any errors.
