2013-07-29 18:21:37 -0500 answered a question error installing nova-compute

Hmm. I seem to have solved the issue with the following commands:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge mysql-* nova-* keystone glance-* openstack-* django-* python-keystoneclient libvirt0 libvirt-bin

sudo apt-get clean

sudo apt-get autoclean

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install nova-compute
2013-07-29 17:38:13 -0500 asked a question error installing nova-compute

I had a great cloud running, but some configuration changed and I removed nova-compute. I then attempted to reinstall it, but I'm getting an error I can't solve. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 and OpenStack Grizzly. My OpenStack source list is:

deb http://ubuntu-cloud.archive.canonical.com/ubuntu precise-updates/grizzly main

This is the error:

sudo apt-get install nova-compute

2013-07-15 11:41:34 -0500 answered a question specify bridge to have no ip address

I realized I was fighting against myself. I was running multi-host, but what I really wanted was single-host.

However, this doesn't exactly answer my question. I have one tenant that I don't want any computer to be on the network except for the VM's, and the node running nova-network is still on it.

2013-07-12 11:09:35 -0500 commented question specify bridge to have no ip address

Any thoughts on this? Having multihost and these bridges all getting IP's starts eating up my IP space when I add more and more compute nodes... Among other issues.. I think the answer lies somewhere among the dnsmasq configuration.

2013-07-11 16:00:57 -0500 asked a question specify bridge to have no ip address

Hello, I'm setting up an OpenStack cloud with the Grizzly release.

My set up is VLAN using nova-network and multihost. I have everything running great, multiple tenants with all instances spawning in the correct subnets, can ping/ssh etc.

But one thing is really bothering me. My bridge devices on my compute nodes all have IP addresses. How can I specify the bridges not to be created with IP addresses?

Thank you
