After going through a lot of different options found that one of ways is to use keystone HA like mentioned above, but with a split-site clustering. Pacemaker seems to support the same.

I will try that and post back with results.

So, as per my understanding HA is normally designed to work in the same site although the nodes may be in a different rack.

In my use-case both keystones will be on a different site, do you think the keystone HA configuration will work ok across unreliable network connectivity?

Hey Thanks for quick response.

So are you saying install keystone on site C? If yes what will happen if site C goes down? Is there a way to configure mirror of keystone on site B, so even if A is down B can still function independently?

Hi,

I am trying to setup a multiple region openstack.

In my configuration I have 2 sites A and B. Keystone is configured on A is shared by B. Rest of the services are separate.

Problem: If site A goes away or there is a network outage on site A, then site B stops working.

What is recommended configuration for the same? Can I replicate the keystone and configure?

True. Thanks for your response. I will need to write something for this use-case. I will close this question as answered

I am not sure what it means when you say "Heat would keep track of resources", but it sounds interesting to me. Could you please send me some links/literature on this? In my use-case I want to capture changes that are made to the application by end-user in terms of metadata. Basically auditing.

Thanks for the response. It would be too much of an overhead to iterate all the servers. I will have to device another mechanism to search the instance by list of IDs. I hope that will be possible. I am actually trying to create a group of instance, volumes, images that form an application.

I use below command on my nova instance

nova meta d2312dc6-0a47-4bea-b7de-52d7da506f70 set foo=bar

Now I would like to search my instance by foo, how to do that? I couldnt find any good way to do that.
