2015-06-22 18:51:52 -0600 answered a question How to build OpenStack from scratch

You can do a couple of ways. My quick answer is tools like Fuel if you are using Mirantis OpenStack, Auto Pilot for Ununtu or if you are looking for trunk or kilo is-ansible-deployment.

2015-06-20 12:09:03 -0600 answered a question Machine Specification for Testing Openstack

Simon - You can very easily setup OpenStack from the master branch on your laptop, dedicated box or in a VMware guest machine within vCenter by using the os-ansible-deployment. Below is a link to instructions on how to setup. It's very easy.

2015-06-20 11:59:19 -0600 asked a question os-ansible-deployment execution error

I'm receiving an error when running any openstack-ansible playbook command to a yml file that I know exists but it keeps kicking back the following error:

Variable files: ""
ERROR: Inventory script (inventory/dynamic_inventory.py) had an execution error:
No file found at: ['/etc/openstack_deploy']

2015-03-21 11:53:18 -0600 asked a question DevStack image pull hanging during ./stack.sh

I'm running into an issue of images are hanging while being pulled into glance during the ./stack.sh build process. I'm using a Vagrant file (link to source on github) and was hoping someone would be able to see something in the logs that I seem to be missing. I know that I could comment them out of the conf. files but would like to see if I can fix the issue without having to go that route. See the code snippet below as a reference as well as the attached file to see the entire run process.

Your question is a little unclear and I don't know how I would respond to it. However, I would suggest taking a look at the Identity Management docs.

2015-02-14 08:10:04 -0600 asked a question Where do I add link to download pre-built image for devstack setup?

I want to add a link to a pre-built image to the devstack setup so when I run ./stack.sh, it will automatically download it and add it to glance just like it does with Cirros, but need some direction on where I need to include it in the script. The pre-built image link is:

I ran into the same issue and disabling swift resolved it. No idea why but I haven't addressed it since I don't need swift in my environment.

2015-01-27 17:37:48 -0600 answered a question Horizon run very slowly

You need more power in your computer. Yes, it will run but as you see, performance is limited. If you can up your memory to 8GB, you should see better performance.

I ran into a similar error the other day. I was able to fix it by running:

# unset OS_SERVICE_ENDPOINT
# unset OS_SERVICE_TOKEN

I reinstalled Keystone afterwards.

Go through the normal steps to clone devstack but don't run ./stack.sh just yet.

go to:

cd devstack

rm local.conf and then create it again so the contents within the file are blank. Then paste the configuration below, save it and then run ./stack.sh
