Does open stack heat provide capabilities to deploy a cluster? The use case is to deploy a mongo db cluster?

The issue got resolved by increasing the MTU of GRE tunnel.

2015-05-12 07:16:07 -0500 asked a question Unable to receive response for big payload size

I have got a apache http server which is deployed on openstack provisioned resources. Somehow whenever my response has a large payload I am unable to receive the response to my web browser. I am using LBAAS from neutron and use the IP of LBAAS to hit apache http server.

Scenario1: I send a request for an html file which has the size greater than 1178. I do not get any response back instead I get 504 error code. Scenario2: I send a request for a html file which is less than 1178. This time I get back the response.

To summarize all the communications are working fine, only difference between the 2 scenarios is payload size. I have been playing around with MTU on network as well as the compute node for br-tun and eth1 but till now have not succeeded . I am also trying out few things with tcpdump but nothing substantial I have found till now.

Need some help on how to debug this out.

Try the command "neutron subnet-list" and than probably you can parse the output.

Another point I am using neutron network so service nova-network does not exist for me.

2015-01-27 10:01:46 -0500 asked a question Guest to Host works but host to guest does not

Hi,

I am unable to ping/ssh from my host VM to guest VM. However opposite works just fine, that is I am able to ping from guest to host VM. Currently I am accessing my guest from horizon console and have tried pinging/sshing into my host VM and it works just fine. I have also tried using network namespace to ping from host to guest but it does not work.

Any pointers would be helpful.

Thanks Ashish

Just wanted to know if it possible to download everything required to build devstack as zip and than clone it in local git repository and than run my stack.sh script from there?

2015-01-16 05:49:57 -0500 commented answer Question: Unable to clone devstack into VM

continuing from the previous comment... I think the port is 9418. So I am stuck again. So as to workaround I change the protocol from git:// to https:// and here I am again hitting the same issue previously reported. So in all I am unable to make any progress further.

2015-01-16 05:48:30 -0500 commented answer Question: Unable to clone devstack into VM

Hi Jeff, Thanks for your response. However this does not help. In turn what I have done is downloaded the devstack.zip and uploaded into the my VM and than used the stack.sh script. It was smooth till I hit another issue where firewall at my organisation does not allow access to port used by git://

when I set the GIT_CURL_VERBOSE=1 in my windows machine it just works fine and is able to successfully do a kerberos authentication. But in case of a VM it just does not work.

I tried setting GIT_CURL_VERBOSE=1 and here is what I see < HTTP/1.1 407 Proxy Authentication Required < Proxy-Authenticate: NEGOTIATE * gss_init_sec_context() failed: : No Kerberos credentials available < Proxy-Authenticate: NTLM < Proxy-Authenticate: BASIC realm="Access to this server requires AD

2015-01-12 09:33:02 -0500 asked a question Question: Unable to clone devstack into VM

Hi,

Before I start I have searched this issue thoroughly on public domain as we all as ask.openstackorg. Somehow I am unable to find an answer to the problem I am facing. Here is my complete setup details

  1. I have a windows machine which is behind proxy.
  2. I have setup a ubuntu OS over the top of it using virtual box.
  3. I have configured the HTTP and HTTPS proxy in ~/.gitconfig along with proxy username and proxy password
  4. Now when I run the command "git clone https://git.openstack.org/openstack-d... to clone devstack into my VM

I get the following error :

Cloning into 'devstack'...
fatal: unable to access 'https://git.openstack.org/openstack-dev/devstack/': Received HTTP code 407 from proxy after CONNECT

PS: I have a similar setup on my windows machine and I am able to clone devstack using git.

Please advice.

Regards Ashish
