2014-12-05 13:39:43 -0600 asked a question Trove-conductor unrecognized service

I'm installing trove and i finished the configuration correctly. I now have to restart the services for the configuration to take effect and i find out the trove-conductor service doesn't even exist. I can't find how to install it or run it. I have not found any documentation on this matter and would be grateful if anyone gave me any hint.

The log file for trove ( /var/log/trove/trove-manage.log ) is empty.

PS: While adding this command : trove-manage --config-file=/etc/trove/trove.conf datastore_version_update mysql mysql-5.5 mysql glance_image_ID mysql-server-5.5 1 I specified a valid image but there were no instances running from that image, or any other image for that matter. I'm not sure if that's related to the trove-conductor service.

2014-12-05 07:12:10 -0600 answered a question Heat does not log

I have openstack icehouse, i could not figure out the problem because heat doesn't write any logs, even though i specified the logs folder and filename. The heat daemon starts fine but it stops immediately after i type any heat command. I do not know exactly the problem but i solved this by removing and purging heat, removing all the files under /etc/heat/* , reboot then reinstall.

I've been installing openstack for a while now and i've gotten up to the Heat part. I'm trying to start the heat services ( heat-api heat-api-cfn heat-engine ) but they stop immediately after i start them. I enable logging on heat.conf by setting verbose = True and log_dir=/var/log/heat and log_file=heat.log but i still can't see any log files.

Any idea what this might be related to?
