I am also having the same issue. I have to go for a hit and trial in most of the cases, and to make it worst today I tried creating a snaphsot using command line, still it remains stuck in saving status. My setup is using Kilo.

2015-05-24 02:05:31 -0600 answered a question resize instance - ssh warning

make sure your nova user has appropriate shell set, if not run:

usermod -s /bin/bash nova

Now generate SSH keys using "nova" users.

su - nova ssh-keygen -t rsa

Save the key without a passphrase.

Next up we need to configure SSH to not do host key verification, unless you want to manually SSH to all compute nodes that exist and accept the key

cat << EOF > ~/.ssh/config
Host *
    StrictHostKeyChecking no

Next we need to make sure we copy the the contents of to authorized_keys and set the mode on it correctly

cat ~/.ssh/ > .ssh/authorized_keys
chmod 600 .ssh/authorized_keys

Now comes the important part, you will need to tar up and copy the ~nova/.ssh directory to every single compute node you have provisioned. This way all compute nodes will be able to SSH to the remote host to run the commands required to copy an instance over, and resize it.

Thanks I had to same issue, I had three controllers in HA, but I have not added memcached_servers. Editing nova.conf and restarting the services on controller node, fixed the issue for me.

Can you please check, if you have "RECLONE=yes" parameter in local.conf. If it is there, please remove it.

2015-04-22 15:33:59 -0600 answered a question second compute node can't find images

Hi there, I had the same issue and was troubled for a lot of time. But the solution was very simple. First please check,if you have multiple images in different controller nodes, if it there please delete that, and let only one image stay there.

The issue will be fixed.
