it works! Thank you... I deleted opt/stack and manually the entries linked to openstack in usr/local/bin..

2015-01-21 04:02:12 -0500 asked a question how to complete uninstall Devstack?

I tried using clean.sh but I'm still able to invoke commands like keystone in the terminal, so I think some parts of Openstack are still in my system. Any hints?

I had similar issue after rebooting my computer.. is this your case? You have to launch rejoin-stack after every reboot to rejoin the previous screen..

2014-12-03 02:50:10 -0500 commented question nova-network api "create network" error 404

Ok I'm going to edit my question with the code, but I think the problem is not related to it, because other nova-network API are working properly and I use a similar java code.. could be my problem related to the fact that nova-network is deprecated?

2014-12-03 02:46:37 -0500 answered a question Run unit test of java program using OpenstackAPI

Ok.. It was my mistake! I was sending a wrong header field "auth-header" ... actually is "X-Auth-Token"! Sorry.. now it works properly with GET methods, but I still have problems... every other method PUT/POST/DELETE I try, I get an error 500 from SoapUI, but this methods are working properly if I test them with a testing java class with a main() . Any suggestion?

2014-12-01 06:01:16 -0500 asked a question Run unit test of java program using OpenstackAPI

Hi, I developed a restful webservice that uses Openstack nova APIs. I'm trying to use SOAPUI to do unit testing, but I'm encountering a problem. My method impements an Openstack Compute API when I do tests they returns "authentication required", because of course a token must be provided, the problem is that I cannot copy and paste it into the header, so in the meanwhile I type it (taking it from testing the authentication, wich works properly), it expires... Any suggestion? Thank you

2014-11-28 11:50:56 -0500 asked a question nova-network api "create network" error 404

Hi, I'm trying to use some of Openstack APIs, I get "Error 404 Resource not found" when trying to use "Create Network" in a java program. I have devstack all-in-one .

http://developer.openstack.org/api-re...

Is there any known problem? I'm referring to nova-network, not neutron. I'm able to create a network via CLI (not via API calling). Any help will be appreciated. This is the code I'm using:

    private final static String NOVA_ENDPOINT = "http://127.0.0.1:8774/v2/";
    String network = "{\"network\": {\"label\": \"new net 111\", \"cidr\": \"10.20.105.0/24\" }}"
    [...]
    JsonObject jo = (JsonObject)json.parse(network);
    Response response = client.target(NOVA_ENDPOINT+tenant_id)
                .request(MediaType.APPLICATION_JSON)
                .header("X-Auth-Token", authToken)
                .post(Entity.json(gson.toJson(jo)));

    String responseJson = response.readEntity(String.class);

If I use command "nova network-create" from CLI works properly, but If I call the API via CLI, same error 404.. seems to be a problem related to the API, maybe because nova-network is deprecated?

[NEW] After suggestion of echiu I provide more details..

I tried with REST Console, getting same error... this is a summary of what I just did with REST Console:

TARGET:

Request URI: http://172.22.173.160:8774/v2/7f7bea3...

Request Method: POST

Accept: text/plain (if I choose application/json same error)

BODY:

Content-type: text/plain (if I choose application/json same error)

Raw Body: {"network": { "label": "new net 111", "cidr": "10.20.105.0/24}}

Custom Header: X-Auth-Token ff5982d881a7489cba89d44cebaec364

Left empty all other fields. I get error 404, Resource not found. I'm sure about my tenant ID and Token ID, I took that with CLI command keystone token-get, and if I try the API "List Networks" wich is a GET with this endpoint:

http://172.22.173.160:8774/v2/7f7bea3...

(Note that the endpoint is the same, except for the last part /os-networks ...so my url is correct I think) Everything works fine! It is strange, because I can properly create a network with CLI command

nova network-create Prova --fixed-range-v4 172.22.173.165/24

As user echiu said CLI commands invokes Rest API... so what's wrong with my API call? I remember that I'm using Devstack All-in-one without Neutron and I'm trying to use this API of nova-network:

2014-11-21 10:04:26 -0500 commented answer what does "Start a Host" through API means really?

sorry I'm not expert in virtualization (I don't know what libvirt and xenapi are in details) so I try to clarify my question: what is supposed to happen when I call the API start host? I mean a Host is a physical machine (example my notebook),does it power on my notebook? Obviously no..so? thank you

2014-11-21 05:20:44 -0500 asked a question what does "Start a Host" through API means really?

Hi, I'm trying to understand how Openstack works.. I've devstack (all-in-one) and I'm looking at this APIs http://developer.openstack.org/api-re... These are related in physical hosts management if I'm right, but how can Openstack reboot (or start...) a physical host (my notebook for example)? It clearly doesn't press the poweron button... LOL This point is not clear, maybe I've a wrong concept of physical host.. can someone explain me?

2014-11-21 03:27:29 -0500 answered a question create subfolder in localhost with Openstack installed

I did it! I simply changed the listening port of horizon in this way: 1) go to /etc/apache2/site-available e re-enable 000-default.conf -> sudo a2ensite 000-default.conf 2) edit file etc/apache2/site-available/horizon.conf changing the port from 80 to whatever, for example 8999 (add also Listen 8999) 3) reboot Apache -> sudo service apache2 restart

Now you can use the dashboard going to http://localhost:8999/ and http//localhost/foo putting a "foo" folder in var/www/html

2014-11-19 04:23:52 -0500 asked a question networks in dashboard with nova-network enabled

Hi, I've installed devstack (all-in-one) and If I'm right I've nova-network enabled by default (I can correctly use its API) and neutron disabled, but I don't have in the dashboard any "networks" tab, what is the reason? Is it because nova-network is deprecated and I should install Neutron? I'd like to clarify this point..

Obviously is no more var/www and looking in etc/apache2/sites-enabled I have horizon.conf and keystone.conf but I can't understand how to modify them.. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
