2018-11-19 05:16:32 -0500 asked a question virtual serial port concentrator(vspc) in openstack

Hello, Has anyone tried vspc with openstack ? perhaps hacking the vspc to get the serial connections from the vspc to nova instances ?

I have asked the same question here.. https://ask.openstack.org/en/question... but so far no responses. not sure if that is even possible...

were you able to get your serial proxy running with the above details ? can you share your experience ? Hi Markus, With your suggestion, we could do telnet to the instances using the compute IP. but did you ever verify the live migration with the above config ?

You cant manually change the status. instead you can retry deploying the stack again. i would actually look at the error and continue the troubleshooting.

You could very well use this hack to connect to the instances from the Compute. however, the live migration would fail if you use this hack. hence asked the question if there are any better method to get the live migration working along with telnet to instances.

2018-10-15 08:26:48 -0500 asked a question Change the serial console proxy client to remote host

Base openstack version : MITAKA

Hello, can I change the proxy client IP address to remote IP address ?

[serial_console]
# Options defined in nova.console.serial
# Enable serial console related features (boolean value)

enabled=true

# Range of TCP ports to use for serial ports on compute hosts
port_range=12000:15000

# Location of serial console proxy. (string value)
# The address to which proxy clients (like nova-serialproxy)
# should connect (string value)
proxyclient_address=10.10.10.1

Here, 10.10.10.1 is my compute IP where my VM is housed. however, i would like to route / forward that proxy client to 10.10.10.2 which is another host or VM. is this possible ? if possible, what configuration is required on the remote host and compute host ? I already tried setting serial console on the remote host and configured the same here in nova.conf but no luck so far. pls suggest if there are any better method other than SPICE or Serial-Console-Proxy as those are not matching with the requirement that i am currently trying to achieve.

Appreciate your help on this...

thanks, Aravinda

2014-11-05 01:55:14 -0500 asked a question how to restrict tenants from uploading images in horizon ?

We are using Juno version of Openstack and wanted to see if there is an option in restricting tenants from uploading the images in horizon. We dont want other uses to upload the image and mess up our environment. Any help would be appreciated !
