2014-01-16 01:22:10 -0600 commented question How do I avoid libvirtError "disk bus 'ide' cannot be hotplugged" when attaching a volume?

2013-12-27 01:28:35 -0600 answered a question Which is the best OS to implement openstack

I chose fedora, because centos doesn't have support netns in his kernel by default, which is needed for neutron. http://docs.openstack.org/trunk/training-guides/content/module002-ch002-openstack-networking-concepts.html

Your proposition doesn't work at all. I have try to attach a disk through web-interface and from console command "nova volume-attach", and got same error.

Hey guys, doesn't have you problems when attachng volume to instance?! In the grizzly, havana, and even in the developing icehouse releases, I get same error "libvirtError: unsupported configuration: disk bus 'ide' cannot be hotplugged.". Same error in openstack installed through devstack.

2013-09-27 06:18:42 -0600 asked a question How do I avoid libvirtError "disk bus 'ide' cannot be hotplugged" when attaching a volume?

Hello all.

When I click 'Create volume', then field "Type" is empty. After successful creation of a new volume, I couldn't attach this volume to my instance. I got an error: libvirtError: unsupported configuration: disk bus 'ide' cannot be hotplugged.

I'm using havana development version of openstack and glusterfs for cinder and fedora 3.11.1-200.fc19.x86_64

What's the matter and how to fix it?

Thanks.

rhel will be better choice than ubuntu, because ubuntu isn't "serious" for server use :)

2013-08-17 01:21:18 -0600 commented answer quantum connection refuse

To solve the problem of "[Errno 111] Connection refused", you need to start the quantum-server, for example: quantum-server -v --config-file /path_to_quantum_dir/quantum.conf --config-file path_to_quantum_plugin_dir/ovs_quantum_plugin.ini

Maybe your quantum server is not running and don't listen any ports. Try "netstat -plnt | grep 9696", if zero, check your iptables rules.

2013-08-05 04:19:30 -0600 answered a question How to install openstack from source code

Thank you. I know about this solutions: devstatsk and openstack.redhat.com . To achieve advanced knowledge, I need to build openstack from sources code. I already understand the principle of openstack assembly source code and solved the problems referred to above. Now I try to understand how the network planned and functioning (quantum).

2013-06-21 05:37:13 -0600 asked a question How to install openstack from source code

Hello all. I have some questions about this theme. Where i can find complete documentation about this?

For example on dashboard (horizon): i have downloaded and unpacked https://launchpad.net/horizon/grizzly/2013.1.2/+download/horizon-2013.1.2.tar.gz and start ./run_tests.sh script. Also i configured new virtual host on my apache 2.4.4 with mod_wsgi 3.4. When I try to load home page of openstack_dashboard i get 500 Error "ImportError: Could not import settings 'openstack_dashboard.settings' (Is it on sys.path?): No module named cinderclient" , however "tools/with_venv.sh ./manage.py runserver" is working.

Or another example on nova (compute): after start run_test.sh i got error "pg_config executable not found". I want use Percona mysql server, but not Postgresql. Can I disable this dependence?
