2014-07-24 04:40:01 -0500 asked a question dashboard not displaying network and object store

After installing OpenStack (DevStack), I tried login to the dashboard. I could find only two tabs there (compute and orchestration) but not network and object store, though I have logged in as admin. Checked the keystone services, couldnt find swift and neutron services, so I just created those services and now it list there as shown below:

[stack@openstack devstack]$ keystone service-list

Can someone please help me how can I get all the tabs in my dashboard. This is the case of Project tab.

Now coming to Admin tab, I cant see the following tabs there also:

Resource Usage Networks Routers

Can someone support me to acheive both scenarios? Thanks

2014-07-23 10:27:55 -0500 marked best answer openstack installation stack user permission denied

I am a beginner in OpenStack Technologies in everyway. And I am trying to install this for my learning of this technology. I tried installing openstack in CentOS version 7 Operating System. How I tried installing this is by referring http://devstack.org/ (here). When I was cloning the repository, I was a root user and so it was cloned to the location /root/devstack. But then while installing the same, I got an error which then googled I could find that installing can't be done as root user. So, I tried creating a user and a group in the name "stack" and given permissions in this devstack folder to stack user. But then also when I tried installing it displays "permission denied."

What could be the issue? Do I want to clone the repo again to other location something like /opt/devstack? Can someone please help me on this.? Not sure whether this is enough for you to answer my question. Please ask if any more info needed..

2014-07-22 07:29:04 -0500 asked a question openstack dashboard showing only compute and orchestration tabs

I have successfully installed OpenStack in my virtual machine (since this is for testing purpose) and have logged in using web interface (Dashboard). Since I am a beginner, I was checking the user guide on how to use dashboard. But as mentioned in the document ( http://docs.openstack.org/user-guide-... ), I couldnt find the four tabs (compute, network, object store, orchestration) rather there is only two tabs available which are compute and orchestration. Am I missing something or is there any additional task I need to be done for getting these tabs?

FYI, I have logged in as admin. I am using icehouse release.
