2015-04-28 01:08:25 -0600 asked a question Bandwidth limits network for instances running

Hi everyone,

My OpenStack (Juno) use Neutron with GRE. I create a instance ubuntu server. Now, i want Limit bandwidth network (in/out) for this instance (instance running).

I have references:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/nova/+bug/...

https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Insta...

https://libvirt.org/formatnetwork.html

But my problem unresolved. I need to configure how (libvirt, Open vSwitch,...)?

Edit instance-x.xml

<interface type='bridge'>
  <mac address='...'/>
  <source bridge='...'/>
  <target dev='...'/>
  <model type='virtio'/>
  <address .../>
      <bandwidth>
           <inbound average='12000'/>   Incomming traffic in KiB\s
           <outbound average='12000'/>  Outgoing traffic in KiB\s
      </bandwidth>
</interface>

Thank you!

2015-04-24 20:57:12 -0600 asked a question Resize image: Smallest?

Hi everyone,

I have a file image qcow2(Ubuntu cloud-image ~ 244M, download from https://cloud-images.ubuntu.com/trust...). And now, i want convert this file image to raw type, so that file image size the smallest possible.

Detail:

Usually, i use --disk-format qcow2 to upload glance. Now, I convert file image from qcow2 to raw, example:

qemu-img convert -f qcow2 ubuntu-qcow2.img -O raw ubuntu_raw.img

Size of file image:

Before convert: ubuntu-qcow2.img: 244MB

After: ubuntu-raw.img: 2.2GB

We can create instances from both ubuntu-qcow2.img and ubuntu_raw.img

Here, I want resize (down) file ubuntu-raw.img < 2.2GB the smallest possible, without making error image.

You have a new idea for this problem? Thank you :)

2014-08-13 07:29:49 -0600 commented answer Sahara: Error database when reboot server

Thanks @dmitrymex,

I did as you said: /tmp/sahara.db changed to /home/cloud (example). Then, when start sahara-api, it's worked, that error 's been resolved.

However, when I ssh into the cluster (it was created before rebooting the server). When i run the job, message:

14/08/13 11:33:12 INFO ipc.Client: Retrying connect to server: demo-cluster-01-aio-node-001/127.0.1.1:8020. Already tried 1 time(s); retry policy is RetryUpToMaximumCountWithFixedSleep(maxRetries=10, sleepTime=1 SECONDS)
...
java.lang.RuntimeException: java.net.ConnectException: Call to demo-cluster-01-aio-node-001/127.0.1.1:8020 failed on connection exception: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused

If i create a new cluster, it run nomally.
