2015-01-27 04:03:12 -0600 asked a question swift stat [Errno 111] Connection refused Icehouse

Hi fellow Openstack enthusiasts.

I am having trouble verifying my proxy and swift storage node from the ICEHOUSE installation guide. I am running all my nodes on real machines. (no VMs). I have 1 proxy node and 1 storage node.

I run "swift stat" on my controller and I get this error

HTTPConnectionPool(host='controller', port=8080): Max retries exceeded with url/v1/AUTH_c78ebdbc003f49329bfc821c1e3ec937 (Caused by <class 'socket.error'>: [rrno 111] Connection refused)

Just so you know, I referenced this post https://ask.openstack.org/en/question... but it didnt help my particular case.

Here is my ifconfig:

2014-04-10 15:06:03 -0600 commented question Good guide to set up Xenserver as hypervisor for compute node.

I assumed Devstack is not production ready so I did not go with that.

What i did was install xenserver 6.2 on a host. Than I followed steps 1 to 7 for "Complete these steps to install OpenStack in my XenServer system:" from [http://docs.openstack.org/trunk/config-reference/content/introduction-to-xen.html#xenapi-install]. For Installing the VIF isolation rules I followed the instructions from this link [https://github.com/openstack/nova/blob/master/plugins/xenserver/doc/networking.rst]. Than I manually installed the XenAPI plugins on dom0. After that I created domU using Ubuntu 12.04 64bit and set up my compute node following the instructions for setting up a compute node from http://docs.openstack.org/havana/install-guide/install/apt/content/ (http://docs.openstack.org/havana/inst...) . I followed the instructions there but instead of running "apt-get install nova-compute-kvm python-guestfs" i ran "apt-get install nova-compute-xen python-guestfs". I added ... (more)

2014-03-14 03:38:46 -0600 asked a question ERROR: The server has either erred or is incapable of performing the requested operation. (HTTP 500)

Hello, This is my first time doing a test install of openstack:havana and I am also stuck on the famous issue:

# nova network-create vmnet --fixed-range-v4=10.0.0.0/24 --bridge-interface=br100 --multi-host=T
The server has either erred or it is incapable of performing the requested operation (HTTP 500)

I am running my controller and compute1 node as guest on VirtuBox on a Windows Host.

My /etc/network/interface configuration on controller is

auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static
address172.16.0.10
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway 172.16.0.1
dns-nameservers 8.8.8.8

auto eth1
address 10.0.3.10
netmask 255.255.255.0

My /etc/network/interface configuration on compute1 is

auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static
address172.16.0.11
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway 172.16.0.1
dns-nameservers 8.8.8.8

auto eth1
address 10.0.3.11
netmask 255.255.255.0

I have tried and checked that my rabbit password is correct and configured and that I have restarted all the nova services on the controller.

I am getting CRITICAL nova [-] (OperationalErrror no such table: networks u'SELECT networks.created_at AS networks_created_at........ on my nova-network.log

SO i assume it is a database problem even though i entered in the correct database credentials.

AM i doing something wrong, is there a known solution for this? Should I provide more details and logs? Any help would be returned with much gratitude.
