2013-08-09 04:08:18 -0600 answered a question How to install grizzly with quantum use devstack right now?

Hi,

You can also try the following

git clone git://github.com/openstack-dev/devstack.git -b stable/grizzly cd devstack

Create "localrc" file and add the following lines

disable_service n-net enable_service q-svc enable_service q-agt enable_service q-dhcp enable_service q-l3 enable_service q-meta enable_service quantum

NOVA_BRANCH=stable/grizzly CINDER_BRANCH=stable/grizzly GLANCE_BRANCH=stable/grizzly HORIZON_BRANCH=stable/grizzly KEYSTONE_BRANCH=stable/grizzly QUANTUM_BRANCH=stable/grizzly

Save and close the file and execute ./stack.sh Above mentioned steps worked for me

2013-07-31 11:14:09 -0600 asked a question Quantum Code flow for understanding and debugging

Hi,

I have successfully set up the development ENV for neutron in eclipse and able to start quantum-server in debugging mode, on the console I am able to see the log msg

INFO [quantum.service] Quantum service started, listening on 0.0.0.0:9696

Can anyone please let me know on how to start analysing the code flow I am new to openstack code, any help is useful to me (like pointing to a doc or blog)

Thanks, Narsing

Thanks Salvatore I have now made eclipse to point to /opt/stack directory the problem is solved

2013-07-31 06:44:57 -0600 asked a question How to debug Neutron using Eclipse

I have installed openstack grizzly version using devstack script successfully (Installed Path is /opt/stack/). Also, I have made eclipse IDE dev environment with quantum as pydev project at /root/openstack/GIT/neutron dir

Using pydev debugger I have kept a breakpoint the file /root/openstack/GIT/neutron/bin/quantum-server

import eventlet
eventlet.monkey_patch(os=False, thread=False)

import os
import sys
sys.path.insert(0, os.getcwd())  <<<<<<<<<<<<<< Break point here
from quantum.server import main as server

server()

I have started debugging, it hit the break point in the file /root/openstack/GIT/neutron/bin/quantum-server and when I am doing step by step execution, I have observed that it started referring files from the path /opt/stack/neutron directory which is not in the project work space. Can anyone please let me know what I am missing here?

2012-11-06 19:57:18 -0600 asked a question "nova-manage db sync" is not creating tables

Hi,

I have successfully installed keystone and glance (Folsom) I have installed nova, and when executing the command "nova-manage db sync" it is displaying the following output

root@Controller:~# nova-manage db sync 2012-11-06 11:28:00 DEBUG nova.utils [-] backend <module 'nova.db.sqlalchemy.migration'="" from="" '="" usr="" lib="" python2.7="" dist-packages="" nova="" db="" sqlalchemy="" migration.pyc'=""> from (pid=8934) __get_backend /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/nova/utils.py:658

==> /var/log/nova/nova-manage.log <== 2012-11-06 11:28:00 DEBUG nova.utils [-] backend <module 'nova.db.sqlalchemy.migration'="" from="" '="" usr="" lib="" python2.7="" dist-packages="" nova="" db="" sqlalchemy="" migration.pyc'=""> from (pid=8934) __get_backend /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/nova/utils.py:658 root@Controller:~#

When checked the mysql database tables for nova, they havent created? Before executing "nova-manage db sync" I have made sure that I have created the database nova in mysql database

Can you please let me know if i have missed anthing?

Thanks, Narsing
