2019-08-12 05:47:46 -0500 asked a question How to create instance my local disk /var/lib/nova/instances

Hello , I have a openstack queens setup with ceph integrated and i have some specific requirement to test some of the scenario . While creating the instance it should create instance inside /var/lib/nova/instances of each compute node, that is inside my OS disk itself and it should not use the ceph pool . What chnages I should make in ceph/compute node achive this ?

2019-08-12 05:39:56 -0500 asked a question Numa creation and pinning the node

Hello ,

We have some specific the requirement regarding the instance creation and can some let me know how can achieve this . 1) I have to pin each instance to a specif node .. that instance 1 should always run in compute node1 and instance 2 should run in compute 2 and so on.

2) I want to do a test with numa and without numa for each instance to verify the performance. That is ,lets assume my compute node has 512GB and 64 core CPU , I will create an instance of 500GB RAM and 60core CPU thats iw without NUMA . In next test I will create two instance that is 225GB RAM and 30core cpu with considering numa . Where I can configure the NUMA settings .That is these CPU core should use for this instance and so on .it should be in flavor or some where else ?

lscpu | grep NUMA
NUMA node(s): 2
NUMA node0 CPU(s): 0-15,32-47
NUMA node1 CPU(s): 16-31,48-63

2019-08-02 08:24:59 -0500 asked a question queens over cloud instillation fails because keepalived container restarting always

Hello ,

We are deploying Openstack queens (3 controller and 4 compute HCI ) ,but its failing with Can't connect to MySQL server on '172.16.12.9' ([Errno 113] No route to host) . 172.16.12.9 is my api server IP and this is manged by keepalived/haproxy . But When I checked the keeplaived container its always restarting hence its not able to assign the 172.16.12.9 floating IP to any instance.

Could you please help me why this keep alived is always restarting ? docker log is attached .

Thank you Sayed . Yes I expected the same aws functionality to avoid accidental deletion . I think I can lock the instance once its deployed .. Not sure this will also over ride if I delete stack

Hello , We are developing the heat script for our deployment and all our execution from a node called deployer .Once the stack is created ,how I can lock the stack to avoid the accidental deletion of my stack . if some some has accidentally execute heat stack-delete < stack-name> all my instance will get deleted .

So once the deployment is completed I want to lock the entire stack from deletion or upgrade ,but there should be some option to unlock also when I want to upgrade the same .

Hello , We are trying to create a heat script to create an instance with cinder volume as root disk from an image. From dashboard am able to create it without any issues (It will take ~3 mins to create an instance of 150GB).I want to achieve the same using heat script (Boot from image (create new volume)) Step:

select boot source image + create New volume + Delete Volume on instance deletion

I have tried multiple option to create heat script but no luck . Below is the heat script which i used to create the instance . Its taking long time to create the volume itself and later its throws error.
