2015-06-02 18:56:52 -0600 asked a question trove auth problems

I am seeing the following error and I assume that this is related to the other problems I am seeing with trove never completing an instance install.

2015-06-02 14:26:04.960 16765 ERROR trove.openstack.common.periodic_task [req-7a41d6bd-caaa-45fe-87a7-712a0b503301 admin services - - -] Error during Manager.publish_exists_event: Unauthorized (HTTP 401) (Request-ID: req-c82cb669-f33c-402b-b666-ebb50554a16c)

This is a multi system install with 1 controller node, 2 compute nodes and 1 network node.

2014-12-16 10:48:50 -0600 answered a question How does neutron manage its iptables config?

The real answer is that this computer hates me and is out to make me look like an idiot.

I have not been able to recreate the problem. I did find that boot order is important in multi node installs and that may have been my problem but I can't be sure at this point.

Thanks to those who tried to help.

The interface seems to come up correctly. I am not doing an allinone install. I am actually using 4 virtual servers, 1 control, 2 compute and 1 neutron.

br-ex does seem to come up. I am running Centos7

The problem has not come back after the latest reboot so it gves me an idea.

2014-11-24 15:14:02 -0600 asked a question How does neutron manage its iptables config?

I have packstack installed with neutron on a seperate system.

If the neutron system reboots I find that the networking is broken.

I have the feeling the some iptables data is getting lost on reboot.

So are there iptables rules that get setup by neutron dynamically? Are these rules saved to be reapplied on reboot?

2014-11-19 09:07:32 -0600 commented answer multinode neutron vxlan traffic not flolwing between vm and router.

I ran the downgrade and things started to work. looking back I got openstack-neutron-2014.2-5 and running a upgrade today gives me openstack-neutron-2014.2-9.

It looks like I got caught between the update cycles.

Thanks for the clarification.

Are you saying that python-neutronclient is actually the only broken rpm?

It turns out that the magic encantation was to downgrade the neutron RPMs I found a redhat bug 1163754 that seems to have fixed this problem up.

I have installed a multinode Juno config using RDO.

I am using VXLAN tunneling between 2 compute nodes to a neutron network node. I can see arp traffic going from the VM to the router and from the VM to the dhcp server but no other traffic seems to be flowing.

If I try to ping from the router to the vm I can see the pings going out the router interface and getting to the tunnel and comming out of the tunnel on the other side but the traffic does not get from the tunnel in the compute node to the actual tap interface on connected to the VM.

I have had a similar configuration working with RDO and Icehouse but with GRE.

2013-12-10 12:10:55 -0600 commented question python-swiftclient-1.8.0 requires pyOpenSSL >= 0.12

I realized the duplication after posting sorry for that. Well. I am trying a new 0.12 rpm from fedoar that I re-roled on my 6.5 system. The only other choice I was thinking of was to clone the RDO repo withouth the latest rpms and that seems a bit icky to me.

2013-12-10 11:01:47 -0600 asked a question python-swiftclient-1.8.0 requires pyOpenSSL >= 0.12

but rhel and variants only supply pyOpenSSL = 0.10-2.el6

Where would I get a fixed python-swiftclient or pyOpenSSL that will match? I am guessing that if swittclient fails so will the other python clients.
