Hello,

So I am trying to figure out how to designate a subnet under the same external network to a certain project.

For instance say I have 10.0.1.0/24 and 10.0.3.0/24 under one external network. How do I set 10.0.3.0/24 to be only used by a certain project?

2019-01-05 07:35:32 -0500 commented question How to use Nova or download instances with no controller

Can I move the whole instance folder over to another compute and resync database some how?

2019-01-05 07:09:39 -0500 commented question How to use Nova or download instances with no controller

How do I download that file? And Do I need to move anything else over with it that is under the instance directory? Like disk.info, console.info or libvirt.xml? Or do I need the backing file?

Hello so we had a Mitaka controller that became hosed when we tried updating things. So now we have no controller. All of our instances are under /var/lib/nova/instances on the compute.... How can I download them without being able to source my environment and not being able to use nova on the compute? Any suggestions? Nova list asks for all of the information but I cannot source anything bcause we do not have a controller anymore. We would like to move all of the instances to a new Rocky openstack cluster.

It is on mitaka.... Is it possible to connect the one mitaka compute node we have to a rocky setup? I am just afraid to upgrade the compute node and have everything blow up again. Luckily the controller did not host any instances.

Hey Everyone so I recently did a yum update on our openstack controller and it messed everything up. I keep getting

2018-11-09 15:31:51 -0500 asked a question How to setup openstack to use external dhcp

Hello Does anyone have clear instructions on how to setup openstack rocky to just use ip's from a dhcp server already setup on the network. I guess setup an external network in openstack to point to a dhcp server already pushing out ip's?

Thank you!

I figured it out, had to run this to move it all.

yum -y install xfsdump

xfsdump -f /home.image /dev/mapper/centos_osnode11-home

umount /dev/mapper/centos_osnode11-home

lvremove /dev/centos_osnode11/home

lvcreate -L 70G -n home centos_osnode11

mkfs.xfs /dev/centos_osnode11/home

mount /dev/centos_osnode11/home /home

xfsrestore -f /home.image /home

Reboot

lvresize -L +2500G /dev/centos_osnode11/root

xfs_growfs /dev/centos_osnode11/root
