2015-10-12 07:11:14 -0600 asked a question Radius server on Openstack VM

I have installed Openstack Kilo with Neutron ML2 plugin mode

I have given floating IP address to the VMs.

I am trying to install the Free radius server and the NE should connect to the Free radius server in Openstack VM.

The NE is not able to send the query to Openstack VM.

The firewall rules or some thing stops the access to the VM.

I am trying to install DHCP Server or Radius Server as a VNF so that openstack is the NFVI. so far no success.

What configuration changes has to be done so that the access is permitted by Openstack to exchange queires

2015-03-13 07:51:01 -0600 commented question VM instance not getting ip address in one compute

Actually VLAN is working fine.

I am seeing the DHCP messages out of the br-ex and br-int of the Compute Node

But the Controller is not receiving the DHCP messages. I dont see it in /var/log/syslog of Controller

But it is working for the other Compute Node.

2015-03-13 02:36:09 -0600 asked a question VM instance not getting ip address in one compute

Hi,

I have installed Openstack Havana with a Controller and Compute on Ubuntu12.04. It is working fine

I tried to add a new Compute machine2. I have configured nova-compute and neutron-openvswitch-agent plugin with VLAN networking.

The VM launched in the Compute machine2 is not getting ip address. The Compute1 VMs are working fine.

Any heads up or leads to get this troubleshooted. Please help me.

2014-04-08 02:45:08 -0600 asked a question Creating images from Snapshot

Hi,

I am using Openstack controller+Network in a Server and a Compute Node in another server. I am runnign Openstack havana on Ubuntu 12.04 and i have installed using ubuntu pacakge method

I am creating snapshots. If I create snapshots by running nova-compute on the Controller it works.

If i Create a nova image using the snapshot in the openstack controller it works

If Create snapshots or if i create a nova image on the Compute Node, I see that the network connectivity between openstack Controller and Compute(both are in the same VLAN) is very erratic.

The ping response gives reply once every 5 seconds.

The nova image is not getting created.

Can someone tell me how to solve this? Which logs to look into?

I have configured Openstack with two node setup. Controller and Network on a single server and Compute on another server. I have used ubuntu12.04 and did package install of openstack. I have configured neutron openvswitch plugin and I have configured vlan configuration as the tunnel type

It is possible to create the VMs.

I am able to launch vms.

I am doing tcpdump on br-int and br-ext of Compute node and Controller Node

The DHCP boot message is going from the VM to the Controller

The Neutron DHCP is not offering the DHCP address.

How do i resolve this issue

2014-03-12 13:51:31 -0600 asked a question Create VM images for Openstack

I am using image-guide Chapter 4 to create Ubuntu image

I am able to create an Image and load into the VM instance.

But i face the following issues 1) The IP Address of the VM instance is the same as that of when it was created in the Ubuntu VM using virt-install/virt-manager 2) I dont see any logs in the VM.

How do I remove the IP Address and make the VM instance to take the Neutron IP Address?

I am doing this to load custom application in the VM. This is acheived by ssh to the image created as a vm instance in ubuntu and scp the applications to the VM and then creating an image
