2017-04-21 16:00:14 -0500 asked a question How to change storage availability zone from "nova" to "cinder-volumes"

hello gurus,

new in openstack and installed my rdo environment with packstack..

1 x controller+storage node 1 x network node & 4 x compute nodes

all good and i can create instances but my volumes are created in the compute node local storage and filled them up.

my storage node have 2T space as "cinder-volumes" which is free to use...

my cinder.conf has "storage_availability_zone = nova" so all my volumes goes to the compute nodes.

How can i point this to the "cinder-volumes" in the storage node...?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Richard, can u pls explain how u create the volume in the LVM block storage server..?? I have only "nova" as availability zone hence can can create volumes in the compute nodes so no volume for the VM launch. Thanks for your support. Regards, mirony
