2016-11-03 07:00:23 -0500 asked a question Create instance on specified hypervisor(from dashboard)

I've deployed Openstack (newton) on two hosts, so that both are compute nodes(one of them is a controller as well) Now when i'm creating an instance from gui it only shows me the availability zone(which is the only one, nova, besides internal) but doesnt allow to chose a host. however i can do that from cli, by specifying --availability-zone nova:hvname

What do i need to configure to be able to do that in horizon?

Or - if thats not possible that way, how to create a new zone and move a compute node to it, so that i could select at least a zone upon VM creation?

Thanks in advance for any help

2016-11-03 06:40:06 -0500 asked a question Not able to access a vm console

I'm running newton, with virt_type=lxc Can't configure vnc console for my instances, tried different ways...Although i can access console by virsh tool.

root@controller# grep vnc /etc/nova/nova.conf
[vnc]
novncproxy_base_url = http://127.0.0.1:6080/vnc_auto.html
vncserver_listen = 0.0.0.0
vncserver_proxyclient_address = $my_ip
xvpvncproxy_base_url = http://127.0.0.1:6081/console
novncproxy_host = 0.0.0.0
novncproxy_port = 6080

root@controller# lsof -i :6080
COMMAND PID USER FD TYPE DEVICE SIZE/OFF NODE NAME
nova-novn 4769 nova    4u  IPv4 3800268      0t0  TCP *:6080 (LISTEN)

so, what should be here instead of

proxying from 0.0.0.0:6080 to None:None

to get it working?

Any suggestion is appreciated
