2019-01-25 06:28:23 -0500 commented question Tacker openwrt driver not working in kolla

Hello! I want to follow up on this issue. I changed question description since it still presents in Kolla Rocky version.

2019-01-23 05:36:12 -0500 answered a question How instance obtain ip from external dhcp server

It is possible to make it work by disabling "port security" under the port you want to optain external dhcp. But it looks "dirty" because of ipp addresses mismatch.

I added odl-dlux-core,odl-dlux-node,odl-dlux-yangui features but after successful deploy I don't see port 8181 available. Also I can't install features from the Karaf console (it says Command not found: feature:install).

It is a private network with icmp and ssh allowed. Can you please give me an idea how I can make connectivity between tacker-server container and that network?

2018-04-16 02:40:15 -0500 asked a question Tacker openwrt driver not working in kolla

Hello! I'm rewriting this question for Kolla Rocky.

I'm trying to launch VNF using tacker with openwrt driver.

1) There is no configuration option for openwrt driver by default in tacker server conf file. Maybe it is better to add it?

2) Tacker needs public ip connectivity to created instance - looks like tacker container has no access to the networks created by neutron.

Here is the debug log from tacker-server, issue is the same as in Pike:

2018-03-12 03:08:07 -0500 commented question How to change connection for the Cinder volumes

But the problem is that I need to change the host part only. The backend should be the same. So from compute1@central-storage2#central_storage2 I want to change it to compute2@central-storage2#central_storage2. Storage server and backend will not change, only cinder-volume service host.

Compute1 is a hostname of HV with cinder-volume on it. So I want to change "compute1" part. It is not a backend as i see

Thanks for the link! I think you can be right, but here are some more details in volume example:

2018-03-11 03:27:21 -0500 asked a question How to change connection for the Cinder volumes

Hello! Currently we are running 3 HVs and 1 Storage server (connected with iSCSI to each HV). Cinder-volume services are also running on each HV. The problem is that when I create the volume, it uses random cinder-volume service (on HV1, HV2 or HV3) and usually it is not on the same host as instance.

Is it possible to rearrange and change "connections" of these volumes so each volume with the instance will be on the same host?

I understand how to change it for the newly created volumes (by using different backend names), but I need to change it for already existing volumes.

Thank you! I tried to add lines from your patch (btw, you have excessive comma on the end of added lines) and re-run kolla deploy, but got just the same error. Also I tried to disable sahara_ui in global.yml and install python-sahara-dashboard in horizon container from your workaround,

Hi! I added secondary interfaces of my compute nodes to the br-ex bridge with this command: "ovs-vsctl add-port br-ex eth3". I can share the neutron configs if you need them.

2016-07-27 20:00:04 -0500 answered a question vm with direct connectivity to external network

Hello! Maybe my experience will be useful:

Faced the same task - connect VMs directly to the public network. I am using Mitaka and OVS networking with separate network node (but I think this solution will work on other distros). To make direct connectivity possible I created bridges on each compute node and added interfaces connected to the public network (with names like on network node). Also I added bridge mapping in openvswitch_agent.ini on compute nodes. And now I have a possibility to use standard openstack NAT feature with floating IPs or I can directly add IPs from my public subnet to VMs!
