2016-06-30 05:59:19 -0500 asked a question git review error.

I am a new contributor and working on my first contribution, a low prio bug. I fixed the code and ran tests which were ok. I also did the sandbox sample commits and they were ok too.

These are the commands I executed in my devstack envirnment. (omitting the fixing part)

git clone https://git.openstack.org/openstack/watcher.git
cd watcher/
git review -s
git checkout -b 1597641
git config user.name "my name"
git config user.email "<my email id>"
git config user.editor "vi"
git commit
tox
git commit
git review

Other commands are ok, even git review -s on git review

stack@devstack:~/watcher$ git review

Any ideas what might be the problem?

2016-06-14 01:43:56 -0500 commented question convert any file or template to heat template

You requirement is very vague .. As far as I know there isn't any such converter. please elaborate what do you mean by converting 'any file' ..

2016-06-14 01:43:56 -0500 asked a question Is it possible to use get_file multiple time in OS::Heat::SoftwareConfig

I want to use multiple configuration scripts for setting up my VM. Is it possible to use them in one SoftwareConfig block? or do I need to create multiple blocks for every script? For instance what I want to do is as follows:

  config:
    type: OS::Heat::SoftwareConfig
    properties:
      group: script
      inputs:
      - name: foo
      - name: bar
      outputs:
      - name: result
      config:
        get_file: config-scripts/example-script.sh
      config:
        get_file:config-scripts/config-2.sh
2016-06-14 01:43:56 -0500 answered a question Heat: how to provide the user_data script path

You will have to use OS::Heat::SoftwareConfig or OS::Heat::SoftwareComponent to do that.

OS::Heat::SoftwareComponent - to be used when you want to execute different scripts over the lifecycle of VM (for instance when it will be created, updated, suspended , resumed) see this https://github.com/openstack/heat-templates/blob/master/hot/software-config/example-templates/example-sw-component-template.yaml (OS::Heat::SoftwareComponent example)

OS::Heat::SoftwareConfig to be used when you want to do a simple configuration via some script one time, without taking lifecycle of VM / script into account. Search for its example and you'll get some good material.
