Tried that yesterday per what vishmule said. It looks like, as you said, Packstack adds it back. What I started with was CentOS 7 brand new (which I assume had no mariadb).

There are many mariab packages remaining after removing and running packinstall again like mariadb.x86_64 (others)

Same result. What's the difference between mysql and mariadb anyway? Has one replaced the other?

Trying to run packstack --allinone on CentOS Linux release 7.2.1511

And get this error:

Hi,

I write for one of the leading tech publishers and am looking for a company that wants to talk about why they picked OpenStack instead of other cloud operating system. Also want to know how you are using OpenStack and what problems it solved for you or how it made your operations simpler of provisioning faster. So I would interview you by phone. If you are administrator or engineer would you ask someone in your management if they would talk to me?

Per the comment above cannot use Nova networking on Virtual Ubuntu machine with OpenStack Kilo. Use Neutron instead.

These instructions might be the problem. I think I will try to install Neutron as Nova Network might not work on a virtual machine:

Compute with nova-network only supports Linux bridge networking that allows virtual interfaces to connect to the outside network through through the physical interface

2016-03-23 09:24:06 -0500 asked a question Question: error 500 with network-create

I am using Kilo and nova-network. I get this error trying to create a network:

ERROR (ClientException): The server has either erred or is incapable of performing the requested operation. (HTTP 500) (Request-ID: req-b9b5130a-7d20-458e-bc6e-bed504665210)

with:

nova network-create simple --bridge virbr0 --multi-host T --fixed-range-v4 212.54.150.0/24

I pasted the tail end of nova-compute.log here http://pastebin.com/EvqL0FPP

and here it is without the debug TRACE statements: http://pastebin.com/8LxzGBNG

2016-03-22 23:57:02 -0500 asked a question question: stuck creating network so that I can boot image

I have installed Kiko on a lab server. I have an image loaded and want to boot a VM. But I am not sure how to create a network. I am using the Nova-network. I understand that the network will bind to the bridged network and when I run nova boot it will use that network. In this case it is virbr0, which OpenStack installation created automatically. I have not tried to create any bridge myself as it does not seem necessary.

Here is /etc/nova/nova.conf. It is the default. I have not changed anything. Below that is output of ifconfig.
