2018-05-31 04:46:59 -0600 asked a question How to update packages on multiple Overcloud Nodes

Hello,

I've deployed Openstack with the tripelO project and now I'm trying to update my overcloud nodes with the command openstack overcloud update stack -i overcloud. I can see that it's possible to remove the breakpoints by specifying list of nodes with a regular expression. I don't know what that means, so can anyone please indicate how exactly I have to specify the list of nodes.

Thank you in advance

Ramy

2017-04-18 05:00:12 -0600 asked a question Is it possible to pass encrypted parameters in Heat Template?

Hello,

I'm wondering if is it possible to pass encrypted parameters in heat template. I need to add passwords to some users, and for security reasons, i don't want anyone have access to / read those passwords.

Please note that I'm not talking about the "hidden" option in YAML.

Thank you for your support!

2017-04-11 06:00:43 -0600 asked a question How to provision external networks with Heat?

Hello, I'm wondering if is it possible to deploy external networks with Heat (even with a script or something), According to the OpenStack Resource Type documentation, there is no resource capable of doing that. However, there is some tools such as Flame that can generate templates from an existing infrastructure. Does Flame able to retrieve the required template.

Any help will be appreciated :-)

Thank u for responding!

Every time when I do openstack stack check <stack> then openstack stack show <stack>, I get this output: Stack CHECK completed successfully. 'CHECK' not fully supported (see resources). I don't think that the command has done something!

2017-03-28 10:34:31 -0600 asked a question Assign a Flavor to a Project with Heat.

Hello!

I'm using Newton. I'm creating a heat template that provision flavors. I want to assign those flavors to a specific project. I know that this property has been added in Otaca, so is there any way to do that with newton.

Thanks !

2017-03-21 11:43:18 -0600 asked a question Heat: How to create an index OS::Heat::ResourceGroup?

Hello!

I need to create a lot a flavors, let's say 10 flavors. The name is following a very specific pattern, let's say flav_101, flav_102, flav_201 etc. So I'm trying to use the OS::Heat::ResourceGroup type. With this type, there is the index_var property which by default equal to %index% and can be customized. My question is how to customize this variable in order to get my list of flavors?

Thank you so much for your help!

2017-03-20 15:09:15 -0600 asked a question Heat: am I able to verify what was changed after updating the stack?

Hello Community,

I have two questions about Heat:

1) Could you please tell me what this command does exactly: openstack stack check <stack_name>?

2) Is there a way to see what it was changed after updating a stack (openstack stack update ...) or even after making some changes manually? for example: i updated the YAML file to eliminate a server (or deleted it manually); Is heat capable of telling me that a server has been eliminated.

Thanks a lot for your help!
