This might be my answer. I will go give it a shot:

I have an rdo implementation of openstack with 5 total nodes. The head node (mitaka) and compute nodes (vapor##)

I cannot create any instances as it complains that there aren't any available resources. As you can see from the horizon screenshot there don't seem to be any resources available despite having 4 compute nodes (each node has 48 GB memory, and at least 16 cores. Unsure on the disk space though..... probably a minimum of 500 GB each).

Ugh....not enough karma points to post a link. Go to: hbeta dot com/download/openstack/horizon.png

I am unsure where to go from here. Thanks for your help in advance. (side note: nova-osapi-compute and *metadata services seem to be having issues as seen in the 'nova-manage service list' output above... my guess is that they are related)

2016-02-01 22:38:07 -0500 asked a question Failed to scheduler_run_instance: No valid host was found -- Unathorized: Authentication required

Late last night our AD cert expired and was subsequently renewed (used for authentication). Authentication to our openstack was broken and eventually fixed (ie Users logging into Horizon). During this process we broke something somewhere else. When creating a new instance in any tenant we get the following errors/messages:

HORIZON message: Error: Failed to launch instance "<servername>": Please try again later [Error: No valid host was found. Exceeded max scheuling attmepts 3 for instance <splat>].
