2016-01-06 22:46:17 -0500 answered a question nosetests: no module named tempest

fix the python dependencies in the virtual environment then you wont get the above error

2016-01-06 07:30:58 -0500 answered a question How to run tempest tests, "testr" vs "nosetests"?

using testr run you can't able to stop the test, after finishing the test it will show you that "Failed test = 100".

using nosetests we can able to stop the test once the test fail. That can done by executing the below command

nosetests -vx tempest.api.object_storage.test_container_services:ContainerTest.test_create_container

Note: -vxl

x ---> Stop running tests after the first error or failure.

l ---> Run test in Debug mode: So we can see better error message.

for this purpose we are going for nosetest.

2016-01-06 07:20:09 -0500 answered a question Use tempest totals

Hi Vincent,

You can get this output while you are executing the command " testr run --parallel " . This command is used to test your whole openstack setup using the tempest service. So you are getting those above mentioned parameter.

2015-12-20 22:52:03 -0500 asked a question Does tempest have its own api support or it just call the openstack api when the python code is executed from git repository ?

I have installed tempest in my OpenStack setup following this link and its running successfully while executing the command

testr run --parallel .

And I can see the log in the appropriate openstack service api's while running the above command.

But I didn't see any dedicated log files for tempest service in OpenStack. Also, I can see running the above command directly trigger the OpenStack API to run sanity test.

Is there any API support available for the tempest service, so that I can run tempest using RESTApi also.

Thanks,

Jagan

2015-09-22 08:41:39 -0500 asked a question what are the openstack distribution that supports cinder incremental snapshot and how it is implemented ?

In openstack , i have launched an instance and added a volume of 100GB to the instance. To that volume i have pushed the data of 10GB and then took the snapshot. Again added the data of 15GB to the same volume and then took the snapshot. The snapshot that took will be the incremental snapshot or full volume snapshot after adding 10GB and 15GB of data.
