2016-08-17 09:09:20 -0500 answered a question How can i link my openstack to public web?

Hi,

Well, You could link the Horizon dashboard to a public IP address and give users a username and a password. You can limit their use by using policies.

Good luck

Hello,

Can I unmount a image off a virtual machine after the installation of a OS without using the CLI? If not, is there a work-around to still force the booting off the virtual hard-drive?

Thanks! Ruben.

2015-12-07 08:24:24 -0500 asked a question Cinder volumes won't mount.

Hello,

When i attach a Cinder volume to a instance, boot the instance with any live boot image and try to mount it using:

sudo mount /dev/vdb /mnt/test

It gives me the following errors:

mount: /dev/vdb is write protected, mounting read-only.
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/vdb. missing codepage or helper program, or other error.

In the Cinder volume tab it states that the volume is RW and that it is attached to /dev/vdb.

I'm not sure how to fix this and i hope to find some help here. I am running Openstack Liberty with a GlusterFS storage backend.

Thanks, Ruben

2015-11-16 05:44:24 -0500 asked a question Unexpected vif_type=binding_failed

Hello,

When i try to spawn a VM in my 2 node Openstack Liberty setup i get the following error in the Horizon dashboard:

NoValidHost: No valid host was found. There are not enough hosts available.

When i look at the logs of Nova and Neutron it gives the following error:

Unexpected vif_type=binding_failed

I'm running Openstack Liberty on Debian 8 but i had the same issue a while ago with CentOS 7 and Openstack Juno which is why i upgraded to Debian and Liberty. The full logs are under this post.

Controller node: Infra01

IP: 10.63.0.11 but is also available under 10.63.0.10

Compute node: Compute01

IP 10.63.0.101

Output of some commands:

If you require any more information then i will be happy to provide it.

Thanks, Ruben.

2015-10-11 13:06:26 -0500 asked a question Instances dont get IP addresses

Hey,

I am having a problem with my instances not getting an IP address on any of my two compute nodes. Horizon tells me it has a IP address but it does not have one when i boot it. When i try get an IP trough "dhclient -v" it wont find a server that can give a IP.

I am running multinode Openstack Juno cluster on CentOS 7. I did not use RDO.

The neutron logs on the neutron server do not give any error messages. Neutron agent-list gives the following output

Hey,

I know that there is a way to get the spice console to use HTTPS instead of HTTP but i'm wondering what configs need to be edited to make that happen.

I am running a CentOS 7 cluster with the only exception being the Debian 7.9 Horizon node.

Thanks! Ruben

2015-10-01 09:42:08 -0500 asked a question [Spice] Grey screen when opening the console

Hey,

Today i tried setting up a spice console instead of using Novnc in CentOS 7 (Openstack Juno). This all went pretty good until i tried opening the console on a newly spawned instance. It just shows the Spice console with a Grey box in the middle where the instance should be displaying its output. (LINK)

I read about this problem on a Redhat forum and it says that it is the error it gives when it couldn't connect. (LINK) The forum didn't give any solution that would work for me.

I am out of options and i don't know how to fix this.

Controller /etc/nova/nova.conf

Hey,

I get an error when trying to login into the Openstack dashboard with the correct credentials. The error says "An error occurred authenticating. Please try again later.". I tried a lot of things I found on forums but nothing solves the issue.

I am running Openstack juno in CentOS 7. Here are some of the logs when i try to log in.
