Hello,

Did you solve this issue? I have same problem...

Changing MTU size to 1454 solved issue with network for me too.

Ok, If I got fast network, fast interfaces, single l3 + dhcp service on ubuntu machine can it handle, for example, about 300 routers and about 2000 floating ip's without crashes?

I understand, that there are a lot of variables, but some main limits should be...

I wanted to know it either. How much routers, floating IP's, network throughput it can handle.

Hello! Thanks, it works! I changed sources on nova-computes and now pool is creating successfully, but when add second nova-compute host, nova-compute fail to start (but it adds). It happens also when I was trying to add second nova-compute on working XS resource pool (created without OpenStack).

2013-12-10 04:04:36 -0500 asked a question Aggregate hosts

Hello all!

I am trying to create XenServer pool from two hosts. I discover, that hosts must be stand alone (they shouldn't be on XenServer resource pool) before aggregate (this I didn't find in any documentation). Ok, but now I have problem to aggregate two stand alone hosts.

So I got services:

root@controller:~# nova service-list

To create aggregate pool I used this documentation.

On controller node I create resource pool:

nova aggregate-create demo-pool nova

Add metadatas, as described in documentation:

nova aggregate-set-metadata 1 hypervisor_pool=true
nova aggregate-set-metadata 1 operational_state=created

And than I added master host to pool:

nova aggregate-add-host 1 compute-1

After that nothing happens and in compute-1 host nova-compute.log file error appears:

2013-12-06 16:29:25 -0500 asked a question XenAPIDriver on nova-compute-xcp

Hello all,

I try to set up nova-compute on paravirtualized XenServer 6.2 DomU (Ubuntu 12.04 LTS). I installed package nova-compute-xcp (I think this is right, in documentation I can't find which is right one). So I try to start daemon with startup script, which didn't work at all. So I started daemon with command: nova-compute --flagfile=/etc/nova/nova.conf Got error: CRITICAL nova [-] Class XenAPIDriver could not be found: No module named xenapi In /etc/nova/nova.conf I set up this:

compute_driver = xenapi.XenAPIDriver
xenapi_connection_url = http://10.20.11.25
xenapi_connection_username = root
xenapi_connection_password = ********

I got python-xenapi package installed. Where I should look for problem?

Thanks.

2013-08-14 07:29:32 -0500 asked a question Can't install DevStack on XenServer 6.2

Hi all.

I try to install DevStack on XenServer 6.2. I followed this guide.

But when I run ./install_os_domU.sh I got only error:

/root/devstack/openstack-dev-devstack-55181d2/tools/xen/../../functions: line 907: os_PACKAGE: unbound variable

How to solve this? Thanks!

2013-08-08 03:41:17 -0500 asked a question How should I use the VIF Isolation Rules with XenServer 6.2 and OpenStack?

Hello.

I am new to OpenStack and I try to understand it in a way to install it to VM. As hypervisor I configure XenServer 6.2. But I stuck in configuration, where I must to configure "VIF Isolation Rules". Documentation is here: https://github.com/openstack/nova/blob/master/plugins/xenserver/doc/networking.rst

But there is only patch for XS 5.6, not XS 6.2 who didn't work on XS 6.2 either.

Next step - http://docs.openstack.org/grizzly/openstack-compute/install/yum/content/compute-configuring-guest-network.html But there I don't understand, should this be configured in Controller on node-compute?

Thanks.
