Nice information

2018-02-26 06:52:49 -0600 commented answer Dns-assignment is not changing after neutron net-update on 'dns_domain'

Please share your neutron dhcp service and meta data service log for reference. Neutron meta data agent carries the information like update host name to the newly launched vm. is the address of meta data proxy server.

2018-02-26 06:50:53 -0600 answered a question Dns-assignment is not changing after neutron net-update on 'dns_domain'

Please check nova.conf

dhcp_domain = novalocal

novalocal should be changed to some other alternate domain name. Restart compute and network services.

You can prefer Manila service. It provides you a durable file share for your application which requires shared storage.

This feature is currently unsupported in Cinder:

2018-02-26 06:19:10 -0600 answered a question what is tenant network or virtual tenant network !?

Tenant network is a private network built on top of a virtual/physical switch through openstack api. It is unique network owned by a user belongs to a tenant. It can be kept private or shared it with some other network across tenants.

Openstack support a rich network topology for creating a tenant network to leverage the capability of neutron. Please check here for more information:

This private network concept can be compared with AWS VPC, where you can build your private network on top of a virtualized layer in amazon infrastructure. It can be kept isolate or it can shared with other network in a same tenant or it can be coupled with network of a different tenants.

Thanks for the update. Yes boot log refers the console log of the guest vm. Also I need the hypervisor log while you turn on the vm.

Have you checked kvm configuration file. Can you show me kvm configuration file. Is your kvm hypervisor package is compatible to your system architecture. Please share boot log as well.

Please disable apparmour service running in your host.

2018-02-24 04:46:01 -0600 answered a question getting error with horizon

Check the file system permission for openstack dashboard secret key.

chown www-data:www-data /var/lib/openstack-dashboard/secret_key

Also check mem cached service configuration on openstack dash board settings py file.

Ensure keystone details is properly configured on openstack dash board settings py file.

Check keystone service log and ensure keystone and mem cached service is up and running.

2018-02-24 04:36:45 -0600 commented answer vm on multiple networks

You can directly choose virtual networks where the vm has to be launched and sg from dash board/cli/api while creating vm. Or use the above steps to add network interfaces of multiple networks to a vm.

2018-02-24 04:34:41 -0600 answered a question vm on multiple networks

Create a port with required details in a virtual network :

neutron port-create --fixed-ip subnet_id=SUBNET,ip_address=IP_ADDR --security-group SECURITY_GROUP <network-id>

After a port is created, attach security group to it.

Once port it is created in a specific network, use nova command to attach the interface to a virtual machine.

nova interface-attach --port-id <port-id> <server-id>

2018-02-18 00:33:15 -0600 answered a question Devstack installation issue: unknown error (http 500)

It is recommended to install under python virtual environment, So that you can install all dev stack packages without any package dependency issues.

2018-02-18 00:29:53 -0600 answered a question healthmonitor multiple pools

We can monitor multiple pools with a single health monitor if all the resource pools are identical. Say servers under the pool are serving http traffic and listening on the same port and you wish to configure the identical health check interval. You can attach the same health monitor if your condition matches the above cases.

Thank for the information. I have checked the doc. I am not sure will it add or remove the cluster nodes by proper service decommission. If it tries to decommission a node manager or data node of a hadoop cluster. It should backup all the data and stop the daemon gracefully. Let me check here.
