2015-03-27 13:49:01 -0600 commented answer Launched hyper-v instances not connecting to switch

If I set enable_security_group=true then I get error from hyperv_neutron_agent: Agent out of sync with plugin!

2015-03-27 13:33:01 -0600 commented answer Launched hyper-v instances not connecting to switch

No errors in the neutron_hyperv_agent log, really not much at all with verbose on.
One warning: Driver configuration doesn't match with enable_security_group

[SECURITYGROUP]
firewall_driver=neutron.plugins.hyperv.agent.security_groups_driver.HyperVSecurityGroupsDriver

Suggestions?

2015-03-26 14:40:03 -0600 asked a question Launched hyper-v instances not connecting to switch

I have installed nova compute stack on Windows 2012 hyper-v server and created a "switch20" during install. When I launch instances from my managment stack on Centos 7, the instance launches successfully and boots correctly. Problem is that the network shows that the cable is not connected in the VM. I have to connect the "switch20" to the instance from the Microsoft Hyper-V Management tools in order to access the network. How do I get this to happen during the launch?

This seems to be the underlying issue:

2015-03-26 14:33:43 -0600 answered a question instance launch failure on hyperv

Windows install of nova compute node has typo in the neutron config file. Modify the admin_tenant_name from service to services.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Cloudbase Solutions\OpenStack\Nova\etc\neutron\neutron.conf

[keystone_authtoken]
admin_tenant_name = services

Unable to launch Windows 7 vhd instance on Windows 2012 Server hyper-v compute node. Management stack is running on Centos 7 host. Appears to be a keystone authorization issue of some sort. What is causing this issue?

Open firewall for port 5672 on the nova manage box.

2015-03-25 19:30:21 -0600 commented answer adding hyper-v node with packstack failing

I've already got the openstack components on my hyper-v server, running and trying to connect to my Centos 7 allinone install. I just can't figure out how to configure the Centos 7 allinone install to use the hyper-v compute node. I can't find any instructions anywhere.

2015-03-25 17:19:07 -0600 asked a question adding hyper-v node with packstack failing

ERROR : Failed handling answer file: Given host does not listen on port 22: 10.120.20.49

I get the above error on my Centos 7 allinone host when adding the new hyper-v compute node to the packstack questions file. This is a windows 2012 server hyper-v install and doesn't have ssh running on it. Am I missing a configuration change or is something missing on the hyper-v server? Randy

Added my new 10.120.20.49 node and exclude the current Centos 7.0 allinone host.

2015-03-20 15:12:57 -0600 asked a question br-ex setup issues with vlan tagged nic's

Have a Dell 2600 server with two network interfaces connected to my office network. Both interfaces require vlan tags for security reasons.

eth0 -
    eth0.10 - vlan 10 10.120.10.0/24 10.120.10.130 GW 10.120.10.1
eth1
   eth1.54 - vlan 54 10.120.54.0/24 GW 10.120.54.1

Rewording this question. I want to install a development all-in-one setup on this box. Both interfaces are available and can be hooked to the network if required. What is the recommended installation? And what steps would the vlan requirements change? I have tried several different sets of instructions that work correctly on my dual nic (non-vlan) box, but don't work with the vlan tags.

Centos 7 - tried with consistent interface naming on & off

stack.sh - git clone https://git.openstack.org/openstack-dev/devstack
