Is it possible to attach CPU cores from many physical servers for one VM?

Hello,

I'm new to Openstack. So sorry if it'll be a dumb question. I've read some articles and it seems that with Openstack I can dedicate as many CPUs for VM as cluster have at all. (in this fashion one VM can have 8 CPU cores from one physical server and let's say 32 Cores from another physical server(Compute node)). Is it really possible with Openstack??

(I always thought that it's merely impossible to transmit all CPU instructions over the network due to the huge amount of traffic needed for that and due to the difference between (measured in the order of magnitude) the speed of CPU and speed of NIC)
