Installing HOS in ESXi Guest

I was able to successfully install HOS Community Edition Virtual onto an Ubuntu Server 14.04 guest running inside ESXi 5.5. The underlying hardware is a Proliant DL380p Gen8 with two E5-2680 processors and 256 GB of memory. In order for the installation to successfully complete, however, I had to assign 128 GB of memory and 250 GB of disk space to the guest. Furthermore, after installation only about 8 GB of memory is being actively utilized by the guest, but all 128 GB of memory is still marked as consumed in the ESXi host.

Otherwise, the seed installation proceeded smoothly and the creation of the undercloud and overcloud also completed successfully, and I can access the Horizon console of both and the demo VM. My only concern is the amount of memory being consumed by the installation. Do you know why this may be occurring and what might be done to reduce the memory consumption?
