The loadbalancer vip shows as detached and admin state and status as down

Hi ,

I Have a multi node setup with client, server and ext-net networks. I launched a load balancer successfully and was able to create Pool, Member, and vip successfully. To keep it simple, I deployed client, server and load balancer on the same network "server" network and associated the vip to the same "server" subnet. When I go to server network in horizon, it has created a port for vip, but shows as detached and admin state and state as down. The vip can't be pinged from client or the server, where as the interfaces of the load balancer which are on same subnet can be pinged as they were assigned ip address from dhcp pool by openstack.
