Resize an instance with flavor's disk over volume capabicility?

Dear All,

I have a question. I create a instance that it's boot from volume with flavor as below. 2GB RAM | 1 VCPU | 20.0GB Disk This instance is booted from the volume 50G. So as I understand 20G of flavor's disk must be inside of 50G of volume. It's mean that 50G of volume must be contain 20G of flavor's disk. But when I resize this instance to another flavor as below. 8GB RAM | 4 VCPU | 80.0GB Disk Why it also ok? Resize is successfully. So which one is root disk?

Thanks you so much
