Compute Node diskless - only iSCSI NetApp persistant disk for VMs

Hello,

For short story, I'm asking you these question that stay without any answer for me : I'd like to have all my VM with one persistant volume from an iSCSI NetApp SAN. No ephemeral storage at all. And I'd like to have the ability to use livemigration.

For long story, I'm actually evaluating Openstack Folsom.

I have a lab with a "controller node", a "network node", some "compute node", a NetApp SAN with giga and TenGiga ethernet. I have openstack running fine. I can create network (quandtum/ovs), VMs, volumes (on a NetApp storage). I can attache those iSCSI to VM and working with it.

But well I have two need : - VM with only persistent iSCSI volume disk - Working with diskless hypervisor - liveMigration support

So well I duno how to handle the creation of iSCSI volume that can be bootable and contains OS data in a simple and painfull-less way.

From now, the best idea I have :create a VM with a bootable installation iso (cdrom style) and a iSCSI volume, and automaticly install the os on the disk. Well but the cdrom device remain configured into libvirt so livemigration failed.

Can you help me please ?

Thank you in advance
