Is it possible to deploy Kolla Ansible using an existing installation?

I have an existing OpenStack installation (Pike version) that was installed following the manual instructions. My objective is evaluate if it's possible to use Kolla as the new installation for an already running OpenStack installation: downtime of OpenStack services is not a problem but there should be no downtime of the instances, and I don't know if achieving that is even possible.

I see that is possible to configure kolla-ansible to use an external database with existing schemas, but it always try to create the tables. Is it possible to deploy kolla-ansible to use an existing database (and optionally upgrade it)?
