ERROR aodh DBError: (pymysql.err.ProgrammingError) (1064, u"You have an error in your SQL syntax

I am working on a web application that should leverage from openstack autoscaling. Hence, I have enabled ceilometer and Aodh. But after running stack, I have some errors concerning SQL syntax. I basically followed the guide here. I am not sure what these errors mean or how to resolve them. For brevity sake , I have a part of the error below :

2016-12-13 16:42:36.571 14752 ERROR aodh DBError: (pymysql.err.ProgrammingError) (1064, u"You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '(6), \n\tuser_id VARCHAR(128), \n\tproject_id VARCHAR(128), \n\tstate VARCHAR(255), \n\t' at line 8") [SQL: u'\nCREATE TABLE alarm (\n\talarm_id VARCHAR(128) NOT NULL, \n\tenabled BOOL, \n\tname TEXT, \n\ttype

I am not sure if this is general or a bug ? My installation is devstack on Ubuntu.
