Hello everyone,

I have installed Swift service using:

yum install -y openstack-swift-proxy openstack-swift-object openstack-swift-container openstack-swift-account python-swiftclient memcached

Also I have created a "swift" user and "swift service" in command line. Now after rebooting my CentOS 7 VM, i am totally lost. whatever command i lunch in shell such as these:

openstack service list

openstack user list

I get this error:

"Discovering versions from the identity service failed when creating the password plugin. Attempting to determine version from URL. Internal Server Error (HTTP 500)"

Moreover i can not login to Horizon API with my admin account, it does not authorized.

Please help, thank you

Rez

The starting point is that it seems that Keystone is not running. Check /var/log/keystone and, probably, something like service apache2 status (typically Keystone runs under Apache nowadays)

I agree with volenbovsky that you need to check that your services are actually up and running as the additional packages you installed should have not affect on your current setup; especially if you have only installed and not configured anything.

well, i checked this directory, there are a "keystone.log" file plus three more .gz files; and there are lots of warning and info in keystone.log with no consideration about service running and being active. What else should i check there?

I used these commands to check the status of services: "openstack service show <service name="">", however running this command would have the very same error that i mentioned in my question.

With my limited knowledge and doing some search, i used: "# systemctl status openstack-keystone" and it says: ● openstack-keystone.service Loaded: not-found (Reason: No such file or directory) Active: inactive (dead)

By the way, i source "keystonerc_admin" first to be able to lunch commands.
