Undercloud on VM, Overcloud on baremetal?

  1. Can you run TripleO on a VM while deploying the OverCloud to baremetal? (given that I satisfy all networking requirements i.e. 2 networks -- 1 for PXE and other for communications).

  2. Given the above is possible, is it also possible to deploy, say, the controllers to VM's and the compute nodes to baremetal?

Or is TripleO meant to strictly serve either fully virtual or fully baremetal environments?

I believe that TripleO QuickStart been deployed to bare metal still have to setup undercloud as VM on Virthost. Not because it's preffered way to manage, just workaround is not done yet. QuickStart CI is different from traditional TripleO CI. See :-

Regarding [2] seems that
sudo su - stack -c "virsh reboot undercloud"
reboot undercloud VM via virsh CLI , rather then physical box hosting undercloud VM.
