Hi,

I 'm not able to ping the instances (eth1 is being used as VM traffic and eth0 is being used to communicate b/w the nodes). Like I'm trying to ping the instance (by connecting to console of an instance directly) from 10.10.10.0 network to 30.30.30.0 network but no success. Even pinging to the gateway is having issue.

Please guide me if any thing wrong in the configuration:

From controller:

# less /etc/neutron/plugin.ini

[ml2]
tenant_network_types = local,vlan,gre,vxlan
mechanism_drivers = openvswitch
enable_security_group = True

[ovs]
flat_networks = eth1
bridge_mappings = eth3:br-ex,eth1:br-eth1

What is your virtual network setup? E.g. router, network(s), instances and IP addresses.

I have added more info in the original question like networking and instance details.

What type of Network are you creating? is it vlan? if it is vlan then you need to ensure that vlan segmentation id is recognized with a subnet on the physical switch to which both the Controller and the compute is connected, so that the vlan traffic is allowed to flow on the switch

Hi,

  • Controller and compute nodes are the guests installed on virtualbox.
  • I'm using flat network, not vlan.

Also added some more info in the original question.

Icehouse is not supported for the last 2 years. First of all please move into Newton release - there are no problems like this
