Failed fetching userdata from url http://169.254.169.254/2009-04-04/user-data

Hi Guys,

I'm getting this error on both CentOS6 and CentOS7 when trying to run a cloud init startup script. Not really sure why it's happening but my cloud init script isn't running.

What is the error you are getting? Is it the metadata service 169.254.169.254 not reachable?

Yes, the error is "Failed fetching userdata from url http://169.254.169.254/2009-04-04/user-data%22 (http://169.254.169.254/2009-04-04/use...). I imagine it's because I need to setup iptables or a route of some sort but I'm unsure.

I cannot curl this URL either.
