Hi all,

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but here it goes...

I'm working on a project which does root cause analysis of bugs/performance issues in a system. As a use case, I'm using Openstack.

One very important part of the work is to find bugs and issues to validate the system. I've started looking into papers and launchpad bugs, but found it hard to find bugs which result in crashes or serious performance degradations. I've started by considering the following:

  1. Crash/non-responsive example: The issues used in (the Hansel paper), which basically consist in VM boot failures and failure to attach VMs to a network, due to problems in Neutron
  2. Performance degradation: (This bug), which consists in Fernet memcache performance regression between Liberty and Mitaka. Since this bug makes the validation of a fernet token to be "5 times slower than the same operation in Liberty (as well as UUID in both releases)", I marked it as a good example.

Can someone provide me with / lead me to a list of 'serious' Openstack bugs (cause of crashes, severe performance degradations, etc.) that you may remember / know about? Any Openstack version is ok, but it would be preferable if we could keep it till Juno.

PS: I've chosen Openstack for a series of reasons somewhat irrelevant to this question, which explains why I don't have a clear list of bugs to begin with.

Some potential starting points:

Bugs tagged "ops":

OpenStack bugs (from beginning of time), sorted by bug "heat" (a measure of how many users clicked a bug affected them)
