What is the CLI to get IO values for a Cinder volume attached to a VM ?

You can measure the IO using this Tool

I was hoping I could do it using REST API. I am able to get disk.read.requests.rate and disk.write.requests.rate for the VM. But I am unable to determine whether the read or write was from local ephemeral storage or the shared persistent storage.
