Hi, Uninstall mariadb server first and try re-running packstack.

Same result. What's the difference between mysql and mariadb anyway? Has one replaced the other?

Hi, mariadb is the binary clone of mysql and is backward compatible. All mysql clients / connectors works the same for mariadb.

Packstack expects to be having all databases if already mariadb is pre installed. So better stop mariadb server, disable it, uninstall mariadb packages completely. Reboot the VM, then re-run your packstack. Please do share & check the logs. --Thanks

Tried that yesterday per what vishmule said. It looks like, as you said, Packstack adds it back. What I started with was CentOS 7 brand new (which I assume had no mariadb).

There are many mariab packages remaining after removing and running packinstall again like mariadb.x86_64 (others)

Please execute

restorecon -v /var/log/mysqld.log

which is going to fix labeling.

And start packstack installation again.

I have used same procedure to install allinone setup and it went well.

Before starting packstack installation again perform the following tasks. yum -y install yum-plugin-priorities cd /etc/yum.repos.d/ sudo wget sudo wget

Start packstack install
