Can somebody please help me how to configure bgp_plugin and bgp_agent in OpenStack Mitaka ?

I am referrring to ( and done the setup accordingly. However, the agent is not shown in neutron agent-list output.

At /etc/neutron/neutron.conf --> I added service_plugins = router, bgp.

Since, in the above documentation it's not clear where to find bgp_dragent.ini file to configure the agent. I created it at /etc/neutron/ where the neutron.conf file is present. I added bgp_speaker_driver = and bgp_router_id = the interface IP of my virtual router.

I suspect maybe the bgp_router_id I am giving can be wrong too. Because, in the documentation it's written it should be the host IP running the agent. Does that mean I can not give virtual router IP address??

Please help!!

Thanks and Regards Saminder

Confirmed the plugin is getting loaded successfully, but the bgp agent is not getting started. Have to manually start the bgp agent or include it into the startup script.
