Hi All, I've read some answers on this forum but could find the right one which suitable for me.

1) How it's possible to reboot Openstack without losing any instance and data ?

2) What will happen if server goes emergency down and after power up how to recover automatically all instances and services ?

3) BTW, after cold restart i realized that i can't find ./rejoin-stack.sh script.. could you provide path for that ? or this script will be generated only after using ./unstack.sh ?

P.S. Please don't mention about ./stack.sh ./unstack.sh or ./rejoin-stack.s for restart point of view..

Thanks in advance.///

Br,

Me.

What is Openstack deployment ?
It means that installer reads template's file which instructs it on which server which services are supposed to be configured and installed, how mgmt, tunnels and external network should be configured on landscape. Then installer starts and does all required actions for you ( and instead of you ). Two well known aproaches for instance :-
1. TripleO . Installation script reads submitted yml templates which in turn invokes related puppet modules and configures every mentioned bare metal node as was requested.
As usual 3 Node HA Controller (Pacemaker/Corosync) gets installed , Ceph Cluster gets automatically configured as Cinder && Glance backend , what actually provides HA for landscape been configured via Triple0 installer scripts. Implementing Ansible as installer making calls to python-tripleoclient is a question of several months
. 2. Packstack ( puppet technology ) reads answer file and does the same things ( but no HA Controllers and Ceph Cluster should be configured on top of packstack deployment manually ). Officially not recommended for production deployments , unless you clearly understand what you are doing, i.e. presumes that any issue may be fixed manually due in depths understanding of nova/neutron and others configuration files
Packstack vs TripleO doesn't use heat for overcloud deployment , via previously installed undercloud node , the last one may be set up in two ways as undercloud VM running on separate bare metal node or as bare metal node itself
My very personal opinion is that the first way is the easiest way to implement QuickStart CI on bare metal in shortest way utilizing Delorean trunks.

Hi, Thank you for your explanation. But unfortunately that's not makes any sense for my questions. I understand that there could be a lot of ways to deploy and implement Openstack. Can you provide explanation about my question based on liberty version of OPS ? Thanks in advance.

You better use RDO packstack for Liberty or Mitaka. It will provide relief.
