Launch an instance with desired Apps on it

I'm rather new to Openstack and appreciate if any one can help me with my questions.

I want to lunch an instance with some installed application on it. In this way, there is no need for me to install required applications on an instance each time I lunch it. I don't want to use snapshot for that for some reasons. Can I use some scripts and run them when the instance is in build state. What about manipulating image with some utilitis like guestfish and then use that image to lunch an instance?

Please share your solutions. Thanks

Hi,

You can use PaaS service. Just configure murano in your openstack platform.

Hi, Yes its possible to launch to instance with desired apps installed in openstack instance at boot time using userdata / cloud-init (YAML scripts). FYI: https://raymii.org/s/tutorials/Automa... https://arnesund.com/2015/02/05/how-t...

Thanks
