I'm having an issue with vcpus. I've hit the limit and cant spin up more VMs. In the openstack GUI, it says that I am using 18 of 20 available VCPUS, but my hardware has more. A quick look in /var/log/nova/nova-compute.log, for example, shows that I have 72, which sound right:

Total usable vcpus: 72, total allocated vcpus: 12

I'm sure I am missing some config somewhere but I haven't been able to figure it out on my own (googled like a mad man) So I am trying this forum out!

Thank you in advance!

That is because your default vCPUs quota. It can be configured in OpenStack Dashboard:

Admin -> System -> Defaults -> Update Defaults-button

There will be the vCPU textbox in the table. Change this value.
