Horizon console WAY slow for an instance

Does anyone have any idea why a console session's would be so slow from horizon? After creating an instance, I go to Compute, Instance, then Console tab where I click "Click here to show only console". From there, it's EXTREMELY slow interacting with the instance itself... I can RDP or ssh to the instance and speed is fine, so it seems like it's got something to do with the console interaction with the instance. Is this a VNC issue?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

IMHO, VNC through browser is very slow itself, but sometimes it depends on hypervisor you use. KVM VMs work faster, than QEMU. What hypervisor do you use?

Thanks for the response Stavitskiy. We're using KVM. We were noticing today that the Firefox browser seems to be (still choppy on say a Windows 10 VM for example) more responsive then Google Chrome. Is this an HTML5 thing? RabbitMQ issue potentially?

Same problem here, RHOS 7.3 (Kilo)

Work fine with Firefox, sucks with Chrome.

Browser versions:

  • firefox 47.0+build3-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 amd64
  • google-chrome-stable 51.0.2704.79-1 amd64
