Mitaka setup without SDN

Hi everybody,

i'm searching for some time now how i could get this to work, might still have just missed it though.

What i need is an OpenStack setup where the instances connect directly to my existing network infrastructure without Neutron actually managing any IPs or routes or anything like that. Basically every new Instance should just come online and ask the existing dhcpd for an address and basically just use the hosts linuxbridge to do that as it would be done with plain kvm nodes and a bridged device. All those instances have to be accessible from the network via that IP (dhcpd registers the name in DNS).

Basically what i want here is to use OpenStack as a management layer for images and hosts but not for the network which is not under my control and even getting a vlan is a year long task, just don't ask please, it is as it is.

On Nova-Networking this should be easy to do but as it's deprecated i do not really want to use it for a new setup. I'm hoping Neutron can use the linuxbridge to do the same thing but i just did not find any document for such a case. I know that this is a huge limitation for what OpenStack can do but that is what i need ;)

Any pointer in the right direction is highly appreciated.

As there seems to be at least no documentation i'll go for nova-networking i guess... (
